Details about Ivory Coast


     Ivory Coast is located in the Western Coast of Africa between Liberia and Ghana. The population in Ivory Coast is about 21,504,162. The two main cities with the most population are: it's capital Yamoussoukro with 808,000 and Abidjan the city of the government with 4.009 million people. Ivory Coast gained their independence from France in August 7, 1950. The most abundant religions are Muslims with a 38.6% , Christians with a 32.8%, and Indigenous with a 11.9. The countries government is a miliparty republic.

The full name of the country is The Republic of Cote d'Ivoire, it's official language is French. The flag has three equal vertical bands of orange (hoist side), white, and green. The color orange symbolizes the land (savannah) of the north and fertility, the white stands for peace and unity,and green represents the forests of the south and the hope for a bright future.

                                                        


      In some countries of Africa there had been a growing impact of the HIV/AIDS. There have been reported in 2009 some 450,000 people living with HIV. The life expectancy of a men is about 58 years and the women 61 years.
